Home Wireless Network: Laptop wireless networking

Laptop wireless networking is now easily achievable. Many modern laptops have built in wireless networking. This built in wireless chip is usually made compatible with older wireless devices for ease of operability. All the user will have to do is to configure the operating system to connect to the wireless access point and provide the correct login credentials.

For laptops without built in wireless chips, it is possible to purchase either a wireless access card or a wireless access USB stick. Both achieve the same function, whereas the former plugs into a laptop PCMCIA slot, the latter must be plugged in to a spare USB port. The rest of the setup is the same as before.
