Home Wireless Network: Wireless antenna network

A wireless antenna network operates in the same way as a wired network but without all of the cables. Wireless routers use antennas to send and receive signals. There are two types of antenna: directional and omni-directional. Directional antennas point to a specific direction and can be used to boost signal strength and range. Most products are equipped with omni-directional antennas, so they can they can send to and receive signals from many directions. Newer wireless routers are equipped with more antennas so they can handle more requests simultaneously, resulting in significantly enhanced signal range and speed. These routers are known as ‘PreN’ routers.
